Job Description

Below is a brief description of the role on a day to day basis.

  • Greeting Guests immediately to create a friendly and efficient shop environment.
  • Provide genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and professional advice to guests with the aim of providing the most suitable rental and retail items for their needs.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of all advance rental bookings for your shop location.
  • Setting up rental bookings for walk-in guests, and making changes to pre-booked rentals as required.
  • Running reports to check upcoming rental pre-bookings and preparing rental tickets for each guest.
  • Answering general email and phone enquiries.
  • Accurately handle credit card and account (booking agent) transactions and daily till balance.
  • Looking after day to day in store retail merchandising by regularly restocking and tidying retail areas.
  • Providing accurate information on the resort area and where to book other services such as ski school and guiding services.
  • Liaise with our other shops, ski valets and accommodation providers regarding returned gear pick ups and overdue rentals.
  • Performing rental duties as required, including helmet, clothing and accessories rentals, returning rentals, etc.).
  • Keeping the shop clean, tidy, well-stocked and organised.
  • Other general tasks related to a ski and snowboard rental business.
  • Keeping yourself busy by pro-actively thinking ahead to ensure that all areas of the operation are prepared for the next busy period.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about snow sports and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm.
  • Knowledgable about skis, snowboards and snow accessories.
  • Knowledgable about the retail gear sold in our shops.
  • Genuinely friendly and professional with great communication skills.
  • Are organised and enjoy working hard as part of a team that depends on each other.
  • Can speak good English - the ability to speak a second language such as Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese would be a great plus.
  • Well presented and neat in appearance.

Job Particulars

Pay Rate

  • ¥1,500 - ¥1,750 per hour
  • 25% overtime allowance for hours worked above prescribed working hours for the month.

Employment Period

  • 18 Nov 2024 - 31 March 2025
  • Fully paid training at the start of the season.

Hours

  • Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.
  • Hours will vary through the season depending on business levels with less hours at the start and end of the season (more riding time!) and occasional overtime during peak periods.

  • Great for first-timers and beginners - free ski/snowboard group lessons with GoSnow (dependent on availability.)
